A Charlotte Area Transit Systems (CATS) bus driver was shot in the chest on the job on Lasalle St. Charlotte, NC. The shooting was on December 22, 2023. There have been many shootings on city buses over the last year.
The incident began with a road rage encounter with 2 motorists driving cars. One of the motorists shot at the other vehicle. The shot missed the vehicle and hit the bus driver instead.
The bus driver was shot in the chest, the bus stopped in the middle of the road. The 2 motorists involved in road rage kept driving. Large amounts of blood was flowing from the bus driver’s chest.
A shootout on West Blvd. involved suspects shooting at a school bus
The victim was taken to the hospital. The passengers were put on another bus. The bus that was shot into was towed away from the scene.
