On November 2, 2023 a CATS bus was evacuated as a man was seen touching himself sexually in Charlotte, NC.
The City of Charlotte #5 bus was coming from the Charlotte Douglas Airport area around noon. Passengers were on the bus when the man began pleasuring himself in front of everybody.
Passengers began to complain. But a passenger identified as Davion B. began to record the suspect in the act.
The bus driver was notified about the reckless act and the bus was stopped on Wilkinson Blvd. across the street from Walmart.
The driver evacuated the bus, but the suspect refused to get off the bus. A bus supervisor was called. The Driver ordered a new bus to replace the old bus.
It is not clear if the man ever got off the bus, but police were called. Most passengers were frustrated and did not want to wait for a new bus, so some walked home or either caught an UBER or LYFT ride share service.
