A shootout occurred on August 22, 2026 resulting in the arrest of Dr. Richard Ariviello, 61, on Interstate 77 in Carroll County, Virginia. The doctor is accused of shooting at two sisters inside a car. The female victims were age 12 and 20. Dr. Ariviello is a doctor of emergency medicine and urgent care, he has his own practice near Charlotte, NC. Doctor Ariviello is a millionaire.
Doctor Arriviello was driving a luxury Mercedes Benz on I-77 when he got into a road rage encounter with a Jeep. The Jeep had 2 female passengers and one driver. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
At 8:50 a.m. Doctor Arriviello is accused of shooting at the Jeep while the 12 year old girl and the 20 year old woman were inside along with the driver. Doctor Arriviello then allegedly drove away from the scene.
911 was called and state troopers obtained a description of the suspect vehicle, Doctor Arriviello was then pulled over in a traffic stop within an hour.
The female victims were shot in the shooting and required hospitalization.
Dr. Ariviello was arrested charged with malicious shooting into a car causing bodily harm, and using a firearm during a felony. Dr. Arriviello is now being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail. Charlotte Alerts News confirmed with medical officials that Dr. Ariviello is the owner of Family Urgent Care in Monroe, North Carolina.
