Dr. Bruce Marko is in trouble again, he has a history of medical malpractice and bank fraud. Dr. Marko was arrested in a $17 million bank fraud scheme on January 5, 2026. In 2025 Dr. Marko even had a $1.5 million tax lien placed on him for unpaid taxes.
The North Carolina medical board revoked the medical license of Dr. Bruce Marko after he pled guilty to a bank fraud scheme totaling $17 million.
Dr. Marko conspired with others to submit false information on loan documents to get money for a real estate project he was working on in Las Vegas. But he told the banks he needed the cash for medical equipment. The doctor applied for around $2.8 million in loan money. However the entire multifaceted scheme was worth $17 million. A man name Kotto Paul was the leader of the financial fraud scheme.
The fraud involved banks in multiple states. The banks believed Dr. Marko and sent his fake medical companies millions of dollars. Dr. Marko sent the money to another fraud member, and that member sent the money to another fraud member.
The money was then sent to Dr. Marko. Dr. Marko and the co-conspirators were arrested charged with bank fraud. Dr. Marko pled guilty and was given 1 year in prison. The state North Carolina Medical Board then took away Dr. Marko’s medical license.
Dr. Marko has owed a lot of people money. Carolina Weekly Newspaper sued Dr. Marko in 2009 for money owed. Dr. Marko has also been sued by a number of other companies for similar reasons.
The United States government placed a $1.5 million lien on Dr. Marko for not paying taxes. Many of Dr. Marko’s plastic surgery medical patients have complained about his medical surgeries and work. One lady got a booty enhancement, but her butt looked flatter and worse than it was before the procedure.
Other patients complained that Dr. Marko did terrible during their plastic surgeries. In fact Dr. Marko has been sued multiple times for medical malpractice during surgeries. Dr. Marko has had his medical license suspended in several states for medical malpractice.
