24-year-old Alexander Eugene Smith carjacked a female cop on Christmas Day 2025 on Interstate 5 in Seattle, Washington. Alexander told cops he smoked methamphetamine before the incident.
Alexander was on Interstate 5 standing in the lanes of travel on foot. 911 calls were made and Washington State Patrol Troopers approached Alexander fearing he was having a mental health crisis.
A very friendly cop offered Alexander something warm and a bottled water. Alexander then ran back into traffic.
The state trooper tried to taser the suspect, but he continued running into more lanes. A female trooper drove up to Alexander, the suspect threw the female cop to the ground and stole her police car.
Alexander drove the cruiser at high speeds in the rain. A pursuing state trooper used a pursuit intervention technique also known as PIT maneuver to spin out the stolen patrol car. Click here to see more carjacking videos and articles.
The trooper then rammed the suspect, boxing him in. Alexander was pulled from the police SUV and arrested charged with robbery and attempting to elude a police vehicle.
