Video: Another victim Shabazz Grant has died from the shootout in west Charlotte last week, he worked at Amazon and did Lyft ride share
The second victim from the October 23, 2025 shootout has died, his name was Shabazz Grant, 34, he worked for Amazon and Lyft ride share service. Shabazz was killed on the job while picking a passenger up for the Lyft ride share company. Joseph Andrade, 28, murdered Shabazz and Justin Carlton, 38, in a double shooting on Hoskins Road Charlotte, NC. Shabazz died on October 26, 2025 days after the original shooting.
It all started on October 23, 2025 when Joseph randomly started shooting on Hoskins Road, he shot Shabazz and Justin. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Shabazz was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Justin died on scene on October 23rd. Joseph then ran into a random house and kidnapped a married woman.
Joseph took the woman’s SUV car keys and forced her into her own car. Joseph then drove off with the woman in the passenger front seat.
Joseph eventually crashed out and began firing at police, he disappointingly missed and no cops were shot. The woman ran from the vehicle.
Cops fired back and shot Joseph dead. Shabazz received critical surgery and care at the hospital, but his wounds were too much and he died on October 26, 2025. Shabazz was also a father and leaves behind young kids.
There is still no motive on why Joseph murdered Justin and Shabazz. Lyft has not yet released a statement regarding Shabazz’s murder, but here is more Lyft news, as violence occurs often on Lyft rides.
