SUSPECT CHARGED WITH MURDERING MAN AT BOWLING ALLEY

21-year-old Miguel Paredes is charged with the murder of Anthony Smith, 26, that occurred at a bowling alley on Super Bowl Sunday February 11, 2024 in Charlotte, NC. The suspect was arrested on February 20, 2024.

Anthony and his friends were at the bowling alley on South Blvd. at 1 a.m. A argument over shoes began with Anthony and Miguel along with the group of people Miguel was with.

The argument spilled out into the parking lot and escalated into an all out fist fight. Miguel and his friends are accused of shooting at Anthony after the fight in the parking lot.

Anthony was shot multiple times and ran behind his vehicle for cover. The suspects continued to shoot.

Miguel and his friends then left in 2 separate vehicles. The victim’s vehicle had several bullet holes in the passenger’s side.

When detectives arrived, Anthony was lying supine on the asphalt. Paramedics put medical electrode pads to Anthony’s torso to try to save his life. 

But sadly Anthony died on scene. After investigation Miguel was identified as a suspect and arrested 9 days later charged with murder.

There is also a second suspect with arrest warrants out for murder in this case, that suspect’s name is 22-year-old Sergio Axel Coelle-Perez.
