Jose Emilio Alvarado Ochoa, 45, was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 30 years of supervised release on February 21, 2024 in Charlotte, NC for transportation of child pornography.
Jose was also ordered to register as a sex offender after he is released from prison. From 2018 to 2021, Jose repeatedly uploaded child pornography to his Dropbox account.
Investigators determined that Jose made some of the child pornography images and videos that he uploaded.
Some of the child pornography depicted Jose sexually abusing a minor. Jose also possessed more than 600 child pornography images and videos.
Jose was arrested in July 2021 and charged with child pornography related offenses.
At the sentencing hearing, the judge granted the government’s request for the maximum 20 year sentence due to the nature and circumstances of Jose’s offense.
Jose is in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility.
