Kenneth had marijuana and rolling paper, he had road rash on chest and rear end after 30 foot plunge
32-year-old Kenneth Wallace had 98 ml of fentanyl in his blood when he committed suicide and jumped from the Brookshire bridge in Charlotte, NC on May 23, 2025. Kenneth suffered from depression and served time in general population prison.
Kenneth jumped from the Rozzeles Ferry Road overpass onto the southbound lane of I-85. The height of the bridge was 30.54 feet. He hit the ground hard and was ran over by a speeding vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
A second vehicle saw Kenneth jump and attempted to swerve to avoid him, but the second vehicle also ran over Kenneth.
The second vehicle stayed on scene. Several witnesses reported seeing Kenneth falling and did not see him actively jump.
Crime scene workers collected a buccal swab and photographs. The contents of Kenneth’s pockets had cash, marijuana, and rolling paper.
Road rash abrasions were noted on Kenneth’s face, chest, abdomen, back, buttocks, and extremities. He had an obvious deformity of his right arm.
Kenneth was lying supine on the ground covered in a sheet. Once the sheet was removed, Kenneth’s family arrived on scene and identified him via his tattoos.
After death findings show Kenneth had 98 ml of the deadly fentanyl drug in his bloodstream.
Medical records for Kenneth list a history of suicidal ideations including mention of suicide by jumping off a bridge, schizoaffective disorder, polysubstance abuse, and a remote gunshot wound to his leg from 2024.
The official cause of death was suicide.
