MAN DEAD AFTER JUMPING FROM INTERSTATE 485 BRIDGE

Close to 10 p.m. on November 17th William was on a over ramp bridge on I-485. William began hanging from the bridge threatening to end his life and jump.

Motorists saw William and tried to offer a helping hand. Police were called. Authorities tried to talk William out of jumping.

The suicidal situation stopped traffic for hours on I-485 and surrounding streets. After negotiations failed, William jumped from the bridge onto I-485, he died instantly.

Crews were called out to clean blood and body parts from the interstate. William grew up in the West Blvd. area of Charlotte. He leaves behind loving family and friends.

Suicides are rather hefty in Charlotte, even teenagers have taken their own life.
