SUSPECT PLEADS GUILTY AFTER MAN MURDERED IN CHARLOTTE

Curtis Beatty, 26, pled guilty to the murder on June 5, 2026. He killed Andre Boyd, 22, in Charlotte, NC. A teen suspect is still awaiting trial, also charged with the murder of Andre.

Andre was killed on July 29, 2020 on Nevin Road Charlotte, NC in the afternoon. Andre was shot multiple times in the common area of an apartment complex. Andre was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Curtis and the 17-year-old were identified as suspects in this case, and warrants were issued for their arrest. They were both charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. The suspects were arrested on July 31, 2020.

The trial of Curtis was scheduled to go on trial for first degree murder, but he took a plea deal in June 2026 pleading guilty to manslaughter. Curtis was sentenced to 7-10 years in prison.
