30-year-old Sgt. Jessica Mitchell was shot and killed on January 1, 2021 during a wild shooting in San Antonio, Texas. Jessica was active duty in the United States Army, assigned to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence.
At 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day 2021 Jessica was driving on Interstate 10 when a vehicle pulled up beside her and fired several shots. Jessica was hit several times and inadvertently wrecked her vehicle. Jessica was pronounced deceased on scene.
Jessica was on holiday leave at the time of the shooting. Jessica had recently became a drill sergeant. Jessica leaves behind her young son who is just 10 years old.
No suspects have been arrested.
