A deputy was arrested, the deputy admitted to being a mean and vindictive person in a text message
Michael Hargrave, 40, is a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy. Deputy Hargrave was arrested twice in 2026, once in May 2026 and another time in July 2026 in Cornelius, NC. Deputy Hargrave was arrested charged with communicating threats, cyber stalking, assault by strangulation, and domestic violence. The deputy is accused of strangling Amber Hargrave.

The deputy was going through a domestic violence situation, in May 2026 he was arrested accused of communicating threats and cyber stalking.
An arrest warrant alleged that Deputy Hargrave sent a message to a victim that said,
“I’m mean and vindictive person, I’m going on the attack, I’m going full violent ruin your life.”
The victim sent a copy of the message to police and then Deputy Hargrave was arrested for the offenses. In July 2026 Deputy Hargrave was accused of assaulting Amber Hargrave during a domestic violence situation at a residence in Cornelius, NC.

Amber came running out of a house she shared with Deputy Hargrave. Deputy Hargrave was accused of strangling Amber during an argument.
Amber had red marks around her neck. A neighbor called police as Amber ran outside screaming. Police arrived and arrested Deputy Hargrave charging him with domestic violence and assault by strangulation.
