LOOMIS ARMORED GUARD KILLED IN CASH ROBBERY, LIVED IN CHARLOTTE

29-year-old Richard Henderson is the Loomis Fargo armored truck employee that was shot and killed during a robbery in the parking lot of a strip mall on October 30, 2024. Richard lived in Charlotte, NC but he was killed in Kings Mountain, NC while on duty as a armored truck guard. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Richard worked for Loomis Fargo. On October 30th he was unloading cash from a armored truck to deliver to a business. Armored truck robberies are common in Charlotte.

A Loomis armored guard was shot in the face and killed during a robbery

As Richard was getting out of a truck a suspect approached him and shot Richard dead. It is not known how much cash was taken in the robbery, but the suspect then fled in a vehicle.

A large black bag of cash was left on the ground near the Loomis Fargo armored truck.

Witnesses heard the shots and called police. Emergency crews arrived and found Richard on the ground bleeding from being shot 3 times. Richard died on the scene. No arrests have been made.
