Vanessa was in her car when she sent a concerning text message to her sister identified as Jaelyn.
Jaelyn was alarmed from the text message and quickly tracked Vanessa’s phone to the Eastway Drive parking lot.
Emergency crews responded and found Vanessa unresponsive from a gunshot wound.
Vanessa was pronounced deceased on scene. Suicides are growing in the Charlotte area.
