Kohen and his mom were at a Walmart with another woman. The women purchased diapers. Someone thought the women were stealing diapers and called 911.

As Kohen and the women were driving though the parking lot to exit, cops chased from the back. Cops say they also were in front of the suspect vehicle, saying the family friend driver tried to run over a cop, which prompted the cop to shoot into the vehicle.

The driver was shot and is in critical condition. Kohen was shot and killed on scene by police. Kohen’s mom was not shot. The mother of Kohen says she had a receipt for the purchase of the diapers.

No cops have been arrested in this matter yet, as an investigation is ongoing.

Kohen Wiley’s funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Hosanna Church in Pope, Mississippi. A vigil will take place in Sardis, Mississippi, at 6 p.m. that evening.
