Gonzalo Jijon was burned up by fire, his body was beyond recognition on the highway

A fiery wreck killed 34-year-old Gonzalo Jijon on I-485 in Charlotte, NC. Gonzalo was a popular tattoo artist, he was killed on November 29, 2024. Gonzalo leaves behind a 13-year-old son, loving mother, father, family, and friends.

Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram. Just one day after Thanksgiving Gonzalo was involved in a single vehicle crash on I-485. He was driving a Toyota 4Runner SUV near Providence Rd.

Gonzalo struck a pole, the vehicle overturned and caught fire. The SUV remained on its roof. Gonzalo was knocked unconscious and was stuck in the burning vehicle.  

The fire burnt Gonzalo’s body up so bad that his appearance, tattoos, and physical features were beyond recognition. There were no witnesses.

911 emergency crews responded to the scene, the fire was put out by the fire department. Gonzalo had blunt force injuries on his face, along with thermal burn injuries all over his body. Click here to see the many people that have been killed in burning cars.

Gonzalo was a talented well known tattoo artist in the Charlotte area, he was also a former Marine in the United States military.

In fact Gonzalo was friends with Colton Floren, 24, Colton was recently killed by police at Tavern 51 bar. Gonzalo even did a few of Colton’s tattoos.
