POPEYES HAD MICROBIAL MOLD IN LEMONADE NOZZLES, GETS 88 B INSPECTION SCORE

Date:

Popeyes has done it again, another bad sanitation score. This time mold and brown coleslaw were seen

Popeyes scored an 88 B on a food safety inspection on July 25, 2024. The Popeyes is located at 11858 University City Blvd. Charlotte, NC. There were several food code violations at Popeyes. The manager and employees needed training on food safety.

In fact the manager did not even correct employees on restaurant violations during the inspection.

A Popeyes employee touched raw chicken multiple times and then went to complete other tasks without washing hands. And when the employee finally washed their hands after being told to by the health inspector, the employee did not even use soap.

The inspector saw microbial mold growth in the lemonade and slushy drink nozzles. Popeyes makes the news quite often for bad food inspection scores.

There was a knife that was heavily soiled but stored with clean items on the knife rack. The inspector observed dirty dishes stored in the clean dish storage rack.

Potatoes were being hot stored under 135 degrees and had to be thrown away. Also the coleslaw was expired and brown in color. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

Flies were seen in the kitchen area. Bread was stored on a dirty tray. There was also rice stored in a dirty bin. Several heavily rusted shelves were seen throughout the Popeyes restaurant.

The vents above the drink area was dirty. Equipment throughout all of Popeyes was in need of cleaning.
