LUXURY RESTAURANT MIZU GETS 86.50 B ON INSPECTION, INSECTS IN KITCHEN

Date:

The luxury Mizu restaurant in the southpark area of Charlotte, NC scored an 86.50 B on a food health safety inspection on February 8, 2023. Mizu is located on 3100 Apex Drive on the 9th floor inside the Hyatt Centric Hotel.

Mizu serves high end asian cuisine, and the food is expensive. Foods were not effectively being cooled. Also, an Mizu employee used the same gloves to handle raw and ready to eat foods.

The dish machine was not meeting the correct sanitizing concentration during the inspection.

The inspector observed fruit flies inside of the kitchen at Mizu.

Dishes were stored as clean but had visible debris on them; the inspector had the dishes washed again.

Foods in the prep unit cooler were being cold held at unsafe temperatures above 41F, the foods were tuna, potatoes, breaded cauliflower, breaded shrimp, cabbage, and unsalted butter.

The shrimp and octopus were not properly date marked. There were other foods that were not date marked at all.

Clean metal containers were being wet stacked. Wet stacking is prohibited by state law, because it causes mildew buildup.

There was a leak under the hand washing sink by the grill area.
