Brooke Smith ended the relationship and Xavion killed her. He then went full psycho and jumped off a bridge in suicide
Brooke Smith, 24, was murdered on May 26, 2026 by her ex-boyfriend Xavion Perry, 31, in Gainesville, FL. Brooke was a student at the University of Florida’s College of Nursing. Brooke was set to graduate in June 2026. She also worked at Yoga Pod. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Brooke and Xavion were in a relationship, but Brooke broke up with him and Xavion could not take it. Xavion shot and killed Brooke at a residence.
He fled the scene shortly after the shooting. Hours after the shooting Xavion was spotted in a vehicle in Daytona Beach. Authorities attempted a traffic stop, but he led them on a chase.
Xavion ran out of gas and ran from his vehicle on foot. He then ran to a pier at the beach and jumped. Cops found his body the next day when it washed ashore, he was dead via suicide.
The University of Florida had this to say about the murder:
“The University of Florida College of Nursing learned today of the loss of one of our students. There are no words that can fully express the sorrow we feel as a community, or the depth of this loss.
