On May 22, 2026 James Rodriguez, 44, was killed in a homicide on Memorial Day weekend 2026. James was found dead on North Poplar St. Charlotte, NC. The city of Charlotte has a murder every Memorial Day weekend.
From the looks of it James was in and out of a homeless shelter for years. He also suffered from mental health issues. Club goers saw James in an alley dead in uptown Charlotte and called EMS.
Officials arrived on scene to find the dead body of James. Police automatically assumed that James’s death was natural or from drugs, and his death was ruled as a basic death investigation.
Medical examiners and coroners conducted an autopsy on James and determined that his death was a murder. So far no one has been arrested in the case. Homeless cases are on the rise in Mecklenburg County.
