Club Onyx is the most violent strip club in Charlotte, there have been several shootings and fights there in less than a year. It will likely be closed down eventually
Club Onyx is a very dangerous strip club. A man was shot 10 times there on May 10, 2026. There have also been multiple shootings at Club Onyx since 2025. In the most recent shooting Chaundres Moore, 23, is accused of shooting Kevin Irigoyen 10 times at Club Onyx. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
At 3:30 a.m. Chaundres and Kevin were at Club Onyx with groups of people. A argument arose between the groups that spilled out into the parking lot. Strip club security tried breaking up the fight but were unsuccessful.
Kevin was seen on surveillance punching Chaundres in the face. Chaundres backed up pulled out a gun and shot Kevin ten times. Kevin was shot in the groin, chest, and stomach. The loud gunshots scared other customers and caused a panic inside and outside of Club Onyx.
911 was called and police officers proceeded to treat Kevin who was on the grass bleeding profusely from multiple gunshot wounds.
Chest seals and tourniquets were placed on Kevin to heal his injuries. Kevin was transported to the hospital where he was administered to emergency surgery.
Strip club violence has been growing in Charlotte.
Chaundres was arrested charged with attempted murder and assault with deadly weapon intent to kill.
The ABC board will likely revoke the liquor license of Club Onyx now.
