Nurses and doctors were attacked at the hospital in Miami by Wenyou Rubin who was a patient at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Yanira Eguileor is a nurse at the hospital and she is seen on video being attacked. Yanira is now suing Jackson Memorial Hospital for $5 million claiming the hospital failed to protect her on the job.
The attack was in May 2026 but the video was just released in September 2026 after the nurse’s lawyer asked a judge to unseal the video.
Wenyou was a mental health patient at the hospital. Wenyou is seen walking behind a counter and attacking a nurse. Yanira runs to help the nurse and stop the suspect.
Wenyou then attacks nurse Yanira by punching her in the face and slamming her down to the ground. Yanira lays on the floor in pain. Other hospital workers come and restrain Wenyou, taking him to the ground.
Nurse Yanira is cared for by other nurses and she is put in a wheel chair. Yanira has injuries to her head, her neck, her spine, and her back. The suspect was arrested for assault. Yanira sued the hospital after the attack for $5 million claiming the hospital failed to protect her on the job.
Attorneys for Yanira forced the hospital to release the video per a lawsuit and court order. Yanira’s attorneys also filed a separate lawsuit to prevent her from being retaliated against by the hospital.
