Jerry Yang was in a shootout with police on December 20, 2024 just days before Christmas. Jerry killed a teenager, shot a cop, shot another teen, and then committed suicide in Oklahoma City.
On December 20th, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence. Jerry was at the home of his wife, they were going through a divorce. Jerry was angry over custody issues and the divorce judgement with his wife.
As officers arrived at the home, they immediately came under gunfire from Jerry. Jerry had already shot and killed a teenager living in the home. Jerry also shot another teenager in the home that was injured but survived.
Jerry opened fire on officers in the home. The suspect’s gunfire shot and injured one of the officers on scene.
The officer is seen falling to the ground in pain. Other officers on scene shot back at Jerry. As the gun battle continued, Jerry turned the gun on himself and died by suicide.
