On January 18, 2025 a male victim was found dead in Lake Wylie in Charlotte, NC on Windy Grove Road after a police chase.
At 12:30 a.m., officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Walkers Ferry Road. The vehicle did not stop and fled from officers at a high rate of speed. Several people have been found dead in lakes in Charlotte.
Officers did not pursue the vehicle but located it a short distance later on Windy Grove Road. While officers were conducting their investigation, they located someone yelling for help in Lake Wylie.
They rescued the male subject from the lake and began life saving efforts. The subject was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
All details about how the man died are not known.
