Joseph Daniel, 44, is facing numerous charges after he allegedly stole a Hummer truck and led cops on a high speed chase in Ashburn, Virginia on October 30, 2023. The suspect then allegedly tried to car jack several motorists after the chase.
The suspect was driving, a 2005 black Hummer H2 that was reported stolen. The vehicle had been repainted from its original green color to black.
Deputies activated their emergency lights and attempted to pull the Hummer over.
The driver disregarded the deputies’ attempts and continued into Fairfax County, where officers with the Fairfax County Police Department and troopers with the Virginia State Police assisted in the pursuit.
The suspect struck multiple vehicles during the pursuit.
The Hummer continued driving and ended up on I-495 north. At 2:45 p.m. the suspect stopped the vehicle and exited the Hummer. The suspect then attempted to carjack a vehicle before being taken into custody.
Joseph was charged with robbery, carjacking, felony disregard police command to stop, felony hit & run, driving without an operator’s license, and reckless driving.
Joseph is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
