Tahjii Katrell Salves Bennett, 21, was arrested in August 2022 charged with the double murder of 25-year-old Darion McClendon and his 4-month-old son Da’mari McClendon in Monroe, NC.
Darion and baby Da’mari were shot and killed during Memorial Day weekend on May 29, 2022.
The father and son were shot at a home on Morrow Avenue. A vehicle approached in a drive-by shooting and shot several times. Both Darion and Da’mari were shot, they died at the scene.
The suspect vehicle sped away.
Tahjii is now facing two first degree murder charges, along with possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Tahjii is being held with no bail.
