MOTHER OF 2 CHILDREN MURDERED, ALLEGEDLY BY HER BOYFRIEND

Nataly Martinez, 21, was murdered on February 2, 2024 allegedly by her boyfriend Freddy Renteria, 25, on Strider Drive Charlotte, NC. Nataly was a mother with 2 children.

On February 1, 2024, shortly after 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an assist medic call on Strider Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Nataly unresponsive.

Medic responded and transported the victim to Novant Medical Center in Matthews with a life-threatening condition. While on scene, responding patrol officers learned Nataly’s condition may not have been natural. Homicide Unit detectives responded to investigate, detectives developed information to believe that Nataly’s boyfriend Freddy may have caused her traumatic injury.

Attempted murder warrants were then obtained for Freddy’s arrest. Freddy had fled to Mississippi. State patrol officers in Mississippi got word from North Carolina cops that Freedy was wanted and that he may be in Mississippi.

After receiving the vehicle information from NC cops, the Mississippi highway patrol spotted Freedy driving and tried to pull him over on February 1st. Freedy kept driving and a chase began.

A female bartender was stabbed to death in a wild homicide

Freedy stopped his vehicle and shot himself, causing serious injury in a suicide attempt. Freedy survived and was transported to a Mississippi hospital. On February 2, 2024, Nataly was pronounced deceased at Novant Hospital. On February 3, 2024, homicide detectives updated Freedy’s warrant to murder.
