In July 2026 Adilio Lemus, 26, pled guilty to the murder of Jose Octavio Cruz, 57, in Charlotte, NC. Jose was murdered in a quadruple shooting on August 2, 2024 at a home located on Shamrock Drive.
At 11:30 p.m., four people were shot during a home invasion style robbery. Suspects busted into a residence and attempted to steal $1,000 from Jose.
Suspects shot Jose and 3 others in the home. Officers responded to a shots fired incident. Officers discovered four victims with gunshot wounds. Two victims were located in the roadway with life threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. 2 other shot victims arrived at the hospital from the shooting.
In July 2026 Adilio pled guilty to second-degree murder, felony conspiracy, first degree burglary, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. A judge sentenced him to 300-372 months in prison.
The other suspects are still awaiting trial.
