2 bricks of fish scale cocaine were shipped to a customer at the Marriott Hotel in center city Charlotte
The Marriott Hotel in uptown Charlotte, NC is at the center of a cocaine investigation after 2 kilograms of cocaine were delivered to the fancy hotel on 600 South College St. Charlotte, NC. Jamel Cradle, 46, was arrested on June 30, 2026 after allegedly receiving the large fish scale cocaine package. A lot of violence, drug busts, and murders have occurred at the Marriott Hotels in Charlotte.
Federal task force officers were conducting an interdiction at a local parcel facility on Yorkmont Rd. One rectangular shaped parcel looked suspicious and was alerted by cops. The parcel was taped at all the seams, which drug traffickers typically do in an attempt to conceal odor. The parcel’s label also showed it was shipped from Lewisville, TX, but when scanned, it shows to have originated in California, a well known source narcotic state.
The label also indicated the receiver of the parcel was listed as Jamel Cradle.
A certified narcotics detection canine was used to conduct an open air sniff of the suspicious parcel along with random packages. The dog alerted to the odor of narcotics emanating from the suspicious parcel.
Cops applied for and received a search warrant for the parcel. The cops executed the search warrant and located two kilograms bricks of fish scale cocaine inside the package.
The cocaine bricks were separately wrapped with birthday paper and concealed inside of a false book. Only one of the packages was opened. The drugs were field tested using a TruNarc Narcotics Analyzer which tested positive for cocaine.
Undercover cops then set up on the delivery location, which was at the JW Marriott Hotel. Jamel allegedly showed up to the Marriott hotel lobby and took possession of the 2 kilogram cocaine drug package. Jamel was then arrested at the hotel charged with trafficking in cocaine.
