Ahh the sweet music of another cop in jail, several Charlotte cops have ended up in caskets, others have also been arrested
Jazmin Featherstone, 26, was arrested on July 29, 2025 charged with communicating threats. Jazmin is a police officer with Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Jazmin went to West Meck High and played soccer, lets see her soccer skills on the jail yard.
On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in west Charlotte. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The 911 caller reported being threatened by Jazmin. The victim also stated that a family member of Jazmin pointed a firearm at her and made additional threats.
All parties involved were voluntarily interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of interviews, the victim pursued criminal charges with the Mecklenburg County magistrate.
A criminal summons was issued for communicating threats against Officer Featherstone. A warrant was also issued for Shawn Rice, 54, for assault by pointing a gun, damage to property and communicating threats.
CMPD’s internal affairs division is conducting a simultaneous investigation. Officer Featherstone is currently on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
Officer Featherstone was off duty when the incident occurred. Officer Featherstone was hired on October 23, 2023, and is currently assigned to the Eastway Division. Even before Jazmin became a cop, she was arrested accused of assault in 2017 when she was just 18-years-old.
A staggering list of cops have died in Charlotte, some committed suicide.
