2 Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department officers killed themselves within one year, the police officers are identified as Scottie Carson, 51, and Officer Brent Simpson, 47. Scottie was a sergeant with the police department. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

After death analysis show Scottie had a history of depression and post traumatic stress disorder. He was in 2 wars, the Iraq war and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.
Sergeant Scottie called 911 declaring his intention to commit suicide shortly before the act.
Sergeant Scottie then hung up the phone and shot himself in the forehead with a pistol in broad daylight. He had beard stubble on his face. First responders arrived on scene and pronounced Scottie dead.
Gunpowder residue filled the air and was found on the officer’s dead body. There is no suspicion for foul play. The shot caused Scottie’s skull to become deformed.
