On August 29, 2024 Officer Darron Burks, 46, was murdered on duty in Dallas, TX he was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, they have many membership chapters at black colleges. 2 other cops were shot too, one of those cops was shot in the face. Corey Cobb-Bey, 30, is the man that shot the 3 cops and killed Officer Darron.
The time was 10 p.m. when Corey approached Officer Burks at his patrol vehicle. The officer was in the driver’s seat, Corey was video recording on the outside of the patrol vehicle.
Corey struck up a conversation with Officer Burks, after a few seconds Corey shot and killed Officer Burks.
Corey then waited for backup to arrive. The backup officers were identified as Jamie Farmer and Karissa David. Click here to see other fraternity members that were killed.
Corey pulled out a shotgun and shot Officers Jamie and Karissa, making this a triple shooting.
Officer Karissa was shot in the face. Corey then fled in a vehicle, but he was killed an hour later in a standoff with police on a highway.
Officer Karissa and Jamie were rushed to the hospital, they survived.
As it turns out, Corey was a member of an anti government group called the moorish movement, it entails a group of sovereign citizens that follow their own rules and religion, with claims that American law does not apply to them and they can do what they desire.
Officer Burks was a former school teacher and high school basketball coach, he graduated from the police academy in December 2023.
