Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Officer Marsaun Cook, 32, was arrested on January 21, 2023 accused of Driving While Impaired in Charlotte, NC. Marsaun was off duty at the time of his arrest.
At 3:00 a.m. on January 21st Marsaun was driving on Interstate 77 South near Arrowood Road.
Marsaun rear ended a vehicle. Cops were called and they noticed the smell of alcohol allegedly on Marsaun. There were no injuries to either driver.
During the investigation, field sobriety tests were administered by the DWI Task Force. Upon conclusion of the tests, officers determined that probable cause existed to arrest Marsaun for DWI.

Marsaun will be placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the Internal Affairs Investigation. While officers were managing the initial crash, another motor vehicle collided with three marked patrol vehicles on the scene.
Two of the vehicles were badly damaged, with the third vehicle side swiped. The driver and officers sustained no injuries. The patrol vehicles were unoccupied during the collision.

The driver was believed to be driving while impaired and was later arrested and charged with driving while impaired.
Marsaun was hired as a police officer on February 20, 2017, and is currently assigned to the Education Outreach & Youth Services Division as a School Resource Officer assigned to Olympic High School.
