20-year-old Matthew Watkins was found dead on January 20, 2023 in Gastonia, NC. 21-year-old Chavis Davis is charged with murder in relation to Matthew’s death.
Police were called to a Peggy Drive residence at 8 a.m. on January 20th. Matthew was found dead inside the home. Cops say Matthew had cardiac arrest when he died; although it is not clear how Matthew was killed.
Chavis was arrested shortly afterwards and charged with first degree murder. At the scene cops found a significant amount of drugs.
