Date:

The Chicken King restaurant located at 7825 Nations Ford Rd Charlotte, NC scored an 85.50 B on a food safety inspection on January 2, 2024.

A employee’s beverage was stored on the expo line where food is stored. An employee handled raw beef and then immediately opened a package of ready to eat hotdogs without washing hands.

An employee touched floor mats and then did not use soap to wash hands, the employee then touched clean utensils. The inspector had the employee wash hands with soap and had the utensils re-washed.

A cut carrot was stored directly on a wire shelf. A large meet slicer was soiled with food debris.

The same Chicken King restaurant had its permit suspended and was in danger of cross contamination in 2019

The inspector observed gaps surrounding the rear door and a large uncovered hole in the rear door, that allows pests to get in the restaurant.

A box of lettuce was stored on top of the trash can inside the restaurant.

A Chicken King employee did not have a head covering. A box of single use cups and lids were stored on the ground.

All of the toilets in the female restroom were clogged and unable to be used. The walls were dirty along with the ceilings throughout the establishment.

There was also black growth on the ceilings.

A heavily soiled hood system is allowing grease to drip from hood system into a container on the floor.
