ARREST MADE AFTER RAPPER MURDERED

Eric Caldwell, 18, is charged with the homicide of Lawahon Hutchinson, 19, that occurred in Charlotte, NC. Eric was arrested on January 3, 2024. The victim was a local rapper in Charlotte.

Lawahon was murdered in a wild shooting on October 29, 2023 on Acorn Forest Lane.

On the day of the homicide at 3 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call. Upon arrival, officers located Lawahon with a gunshot wound.  

Lawahon was pronounced deceased on scene. 2 and a half months later Eric was arrested and now faces the criminal offenses of murder and discharge a firearm into occupied property.
