Power abruptly shut down at an Auto Bell car wash in Charlotte leaving clients stuck
On April 18, 2026 the electricity shut down at the Auto Bell Car Wash on Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC.
There were multiple cars in line to get their car’s washed at the business. There were also cars in the process of being washed in the car wash bay.
Around 2 p.m. the electricity went off without notice. The car wash stopped working, trapping the vehicles of customers in the car wash bay.
Also the vacuums and computers went down. Multiple customers were not able to get their cars washed and vacuumed, they were forced to leave due to the situation.
The car wash sprayers and jets had to be manually moved out of the way so cars could drive out of the wash bay. Customers were told they would be given refunds due to the situation.
Some customers will be given free reimbursed car washes also. There is no word on what caused the power outage or when it will be restored.
