Chick-fil-a employees Brayan Godoy, 31, and Patricia Portillo, 49, were murdered on the job at a Chick-fil-a location in Irving, Texas on June 26, 2024. Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, is charged with killing the victims. Patricia was a grandmother.

Oved’s wife worked at the Chick-fil-a where the double homicide occurred. Oved walked into the Chick-fil-a location and began firing his gun around 4 p.m., cops say.
Brayan and Patricia were shot. A window was also shot out. Frightened customers ran in horror and shock. Oved’s wife was on duty at the Chick-fil-a during the double murder and saw the shooting.

A Chick-fil-a franchise restaurant owner was arrested accused of sexual relations with a child
The suspect then left the restaurant. Brayan and Patricia died on scene. Oved’s wife was not hurt during the shooting.
Chick-fil-A issued this statement:
“Our hearts are broken by the tragedy that unfolded inside our restaurant Wednesday. We will miss our two Team Members dearly. Right now, our focus is on providing care for our Team and the victims’ families.”

Oved is also on an immigration detainer hold, according to ICE. Brayan leaves behind 4 kids and a wife. Patricia leaves behind adult children and grandchildren.
