Jerome Nelson, 43, was killed on June 28, 2024 after being hit by an Amtrak train in Charlotte, NC near Old Concord Road.
On June 28th at 12:50 a.m., Jerome was sitting on the train tracks when an Amtrak train was approaching him.
The Amtrak sounded a loud horn and applied brakes, but the train could not stop in time, and it smashed into Jerome. Many fatal train wrecks have occurred in Charlotte.
Police officers located Jerome on scene unresponsive with serious bloody injuries. Some of Jerome’s body parts were severed and removed.
Paramedics pronounced Jerome deceased on scene.Representatives from Amtrak and Norfolk Southern Railway also responded to the scene.
