DENNY’S HAD ROACHES IN FOOD PANS, GETS PERMIT SUSPENDED

Date:

The Denny’s restaurant scored an 84 B during a food health safety inspection on January 25, 2023. The Denny’s is located at 4541 Sunset Rd Charlotte, NC. Roaches  were found again. And this time Denny’s permit got suspended.

The inspector noted that the manager was not monitoring equipment for cold holding and cold holding temperatures or date marking.

Alive and dead German Roaches were on the interiors of prep coolers. Dead insects were in food pans in the prep coolers.

In 2022 roaches were found in the ice cream at this same Denny’s.

The conditions were so bad at Denny’s that the permit got suspended by the inspector. For example, the walk-in cooler was holding foods at unsafe temperatures above 55.0 F.

There was no certified food protection manager on site during the inspection.

The hand sink at the dish pit had no hand soap.

Mouse and roach defecation was inside this Denny’s restaurant in the wait staff area.

The mashed potatoes on the hot line was at a temperature of 114 F and had to be discarded. The food was required to be much hotter per state law.

Food in the cold drawers at the cook line had no date marking. There was food on the floor of the freezer.

In 2020 insects were found all throughout the kitchen and dining area at Denny’s.

There is more frequent cleaning needed in the Denny’s facility.
