Video: Shots are fired at Popeyes employee. Violence and fights are routine at Popeyes, most of their employees are violent and have poor people skills
In May 2026 Popeyes employee Rodney Wood, 23, pled guilty to assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury after he shot his co-worker on the job at a Popeyes restaurant located in Charlotte, NC on South Blvd.
The shooting was on May 11, 2025. In the afternoon Popeyes employees Deshawn Smith and Rodney Wood are seen getting into a dispute in the Popeyes parking lot.

Deshawn is seen punching Rodney in the face and knocking his headset off. Rodney backs away and then pulls out a gun and shoots his co-worker Deshawn twice in the groin area, Deshawn falls to the ground in pain.
Deshawn was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Rodney was arrested accused of attempted murder. A year later in May 2026 Rodney pled guilty to assault with deadly weapon, he was sentenced to 20-36 months in prison. Popeyes employees fight customers a lot and their health scores are low.
