At 6:15 a.m., an off duty officer responded to a disturbance. A fight then began between the officer and the suspect.
During the altercation, the cop was punched and kicked, a firearm was shot and the officer was shot in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after.
The officer sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by responding officers and transported to the hospital to undergo surgery. There are countless Charlotte articles of cops getting shot at.
