VICTIM COMMITS SUICIDE ON I-485, JUMPS IN WAY OF 18-WHEELER TRUCK

On January 28, 2025 a pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer truck on Interstate 485 in an apparent suicide in Mint Hill, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

At 9 a.m. the victim got in the way of oncoming traffic on foot. The victim stood in the direct path of a large commercial truck traveling at high speeds.

The truck tried to smash on brakes to avoid the victim, but the truck collided with the pedestrian and knocked them up into the air 30 feet. The victim was also knocked back, the victim then landed on the ground.

The victim was killed on impact. Blood and debris covered the highway at the impact site. The truck overturned in the process due to having to brake so quickly. A chain reaction crash was almost caused.

The crash was near the Fairview Road exit. The fatal highway collision also reeked havoc and massive traffic delays. Many drivers were seen driving over the highway median and making illegal u-turns.
