A tow truck driver identified as Khyre Grier, 25, was murdered on the job while repossessing a vehicle on Eastcrest Drive Charlotte, NC on September 26, 2024. Fabio Funes, 49, is accused of murdering Khyre.
Khyre worked for Carolina Towing Company LLC on Freedom Drive. Khyre was dispatched to go repossess a vehicle due to alleged non payment. Watch video of a tow shop robbery in Charlotte.
Around 2 a.m. Khyre arrived at a residence to repossess the vehicle. The vehicle owner saw the tow truck attempting to put the vehicle on the tow truck lift.
An argument ensued and Khyre was shot and killed. It is unclear if the vehicle was retrieved by the owner or left on the tow truck lift.
It was not until 7 a.m. that police were called to the scene, Khyre laid dead for hours in the night. It is alleged that cameras were on the tow truck.

Fabio was arrested charged with murdering Khyre. Cops are looking for an additional suspect in connection with the homicide.
