On May 10, 2023 Craven Withers, 30, pled guilty to robbing a Verizon store in Charlotte, NC.

The Verizon located on Tyvola Blvd. was robbed in February 2018.
Craven and an unknown accomplice entered the Verizon store to rob the business. Three Verizon employees and one customer were inside. Craven, who was armed with a handgun, pistol-whipped the victims, causing facial injuries to two of them.
Craven and his accomplice demanded access to Verizon cell phones locked in the back. They were unable to gain access to the phones, so they stole personal property from each of the victims.
The suspects then fled in a vehicle driven by a third person. The vehicle was later found abandoned. The vehicle led to the identification of Craven as a potential suspect.
Latent fingerprint examinations performed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Crime Lab confirmed that a palm print in the suspect vehicle matched Craven.
Craven was arrested on February 16, 2018. The other 2 suspects were not identified and Craven never told cops who helped him in the robbery.
At his 2023 trial Craven pled guilty to four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The judge sentenced Craven to a total of 114-158 months in prison.
