WOMAN MURDERED IN WALGREENS PARKING LOT

55-year-old Sureita Samuels was shot to death in a wild homicide on March 19, 2024 at a Walgreens parking lot in Huntersville, NC. 53-year-old Rahman Ferguson is accused of murdering Sureita.

At 6:34pm, Sureita was in her vehicle at a Walgreens parking lot. Rahman is accused of shooting Sureita multiple times and then exiting her vehicle and entering a RAM truck, fleeing the scene. 

Nearby Walgreens customers saw Sureita in the vehicle unresponsive. Cops were called and arrived on scene to find the victim dead from gunshot wounds.

Video surveillance from Walgreens provided detectives with further information and description of the suspect and the truck involved.

Sureita and Rahman were known to each other. Detectives discovered that Rahman fled north and was traveling through Virginia.

Huntersville police contacted the Virginia State Police for assistance. Cops later located Rahman in Alexandria, VA driving the RAM truck.

Police attempted to stop the truck and Rahman allegedly fled from them twice, crashed, and ran from the truck.  

After an area search was conducted, cops located Rahman and immediately arrested him. 

Rahman will be returned to NC to face the murder charge of Sureita.

Sureita’s funeral is scheduled for March 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Huntersville, NC at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.

Sureita is survived by her husband Brian and 2 children, along with loving family and friends.
