Meet Carolyn, fed up with life and the way things are going she decides to crash her car on purpose. Had history of fentanyl use and PTSD
41-year-old Carolyn Pierce committed suicide on August 13, 2025 in Mint Hill, NC. She wrecked her car on purpose and it caught fire with her in it. She had suicidal ideations.

Carolyn sent goodbye text messages to multiple people on the day of her death. Carolyn was traveling at a high rate of speed on I-485 when she drove off the roadway and collided with a tree on the opposite side of the barrier.
The vehicle caught fire, her friend was following close behind her to try to stop her from suicide. The friend then pulled her from the car as it was on fire.
Carolyn had also given her dog away. Per Atrium Health Hospital electronic records, Carolyn had been
admitted to behavioral health in 2024 following an involuntary commitment for suicidal ideation.

The suicidal gesture involved hanging/dangling from an overpass. Other medical history for Carolyn included alcoholism, smoking, post traumatic stress disorder, and polysubstance use included oxycodone, fentanyl, and phencyclidine.
Carolyn leaves behind a husband, step children, along with loving friends and family. Carolyn was a big advocate for black lives matter and civil rights for all people, she even attended some marches.
Carolyn was a 2002 graduate of Vance High School, now named Julius L. Chambers High School. Vance was named after a confederate army member, who fought to keep slavery legal.
Knowing that, officials still named the school after the confederate member Vance. The name of the school went on for over 20 years. The school name was changed after the deadly George Floyd situation and all of the race riots.
Sadly it took riots and someone to be killed just for a school name to change from that of a confederate army member.
