On January 28, 2025 Charles Griffith, 48, committed suicide in Charlotte, NC on Interstate 485 near Mint Hill. Charles leaves behind a wife and several kids. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram. He also went by the name Mike sometimes.
A photo of Charles on facebook can be seen here by a local news outlet. By all counts it appeared that Charles had a successful life. His wife had a successful career, his kids were in good hands.
But for some reason, Charles walked onto Interstate 485 around 9 a.m. near the Fairview Road exit. Charles walked directly into the path of a large commercial truck.
The truck smashed into Charles in a bloody head on collision. A roll over crash occurred. Charles was knocked back and into the air several feet.
Charles landed on the asphalt, he died on impact with the truck. Several motorists behind the truck also had to slam on brakes. A chain collision crash almost occurred. Suicides are fairly common in the Charlotte area lately.
Blood and debris covered the highway at the crash site. It is unknown if the driver of the truck or if any other motorists were injured. Highway crashes are an often occurrence in Charlotte.
The fatal highway collision also reeked havoc and massive traffic delays. Charles grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. His funeral is scheduled for later this week at a south Charlotte church.
