Video: A crazy ex murdered his ex-girlfriend right in front of police, he stalked her on Facebook, yet she stupidly got in car with him at airport, she flew in from Atlanta
42-year-old Ashley Stenson was shot and killed by her ex boyfriend 41-year-old Cortez White in Peoria, Illinois. Ashley lived in Atlanta. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
The murder was on May 8, 2026. Ashley had flew in from Atlanta to Peoria for a wedding. Once Ashley got to the airport her cousin was there to pick her up and give her a ride to the residence she would be living at for the occasion.
As Ashley was in the passengers door, Cortez came out of no where at the airport drop off area and opened Ashley’s door. Cortez and Ashley were former lovers and had been broken up for over a year. Cortez stalked Ashley’s Facebook and social media accounts prior to her Atlanta flight.
Ashley posted on Facebook that she was catching a plane to Peoria for a wedding. Unbeknownst to Ashley, Cortez saw the post and he took a flight to Peoria too. Cortez lived in St. Louis.
Hence, that is how Cortez was able to know Ashley was at the airport. Even with all the red flags and warning signs, Ashley stupidly left her cousin’s car and got in the truck with Cortez at the airport. Ashley told her cousin to follow behind Cortez.
While in the truck with Cortez, Cortez began to drive and talk crazy. Cortez told Ashley that he was going to kill her. Ashley then texted her family and police that Cortez made a vow to murder her. Cortez continued to drive around the city and Ashley gave updates of their location.
Police were able to get notified via 911 calls about the situation. Cortez then pulled over on a city street and talked with Ashley on a sidewalk. Police responded to the updated location and saw the victim and suspect standing together. The cop asked, “Are you Cortez?”
Cortez then immediately pulled out a gun and shot Ashley in the head twice, killing her. The nervous cop then shot at Cortez and missed. Cortez shot back at the cop and he missed too. Cortez’s gun then jammed and he threw the gun at the cop.
Cortez ran away and the cop followed while shooting at Cortez, the cop missed Cortez in the second round of shooting also. Cortez ran around some cars and into the street. The cop gave foot chase and was finally able to shoot Cortez dead. Cortez and Ashley died on scene.
